Your Illusion

I had a procedure done when I was younger, where my “monthly” would never be the same.  Some months I wouldn’t get one, some months I’d get more than one, etc.  Every time I skipped one, I would of course take a pregnancy test just in case, all of them being negative, as I suspected.  As happens every few months, I skipped my “monthly” again for October, and took a pregnancy test out of routine.  This time, it came up positive…twice.  I am currently about 6 weeks pregnant.  The hubby and I are very excited, but also extremely nervous. 

So far, the only symptoms I have are tender breasts, lethargy, fast heartbeat/shortness of breath, some slight nausea every now and then, and going from being hot to freezing in a matter of seconds, lol.  Luckily, no “morning” sickness!

So, Thursday (September 22) was the Hanson concert here in Austin.  I didn’t get to record any video ‘cause I was tweeting and taking pictures.  Even though I was in the back and couldn’t see a thing, I still had a blast!  Whitney and I waited by Hanson’s bus after the show.  Hanson finally came out around 2:30 a.m., but they didn’t stop to take pictures/sign autographs, except for a few girls that cornered Hanson as they were trying to get on the bus.  Whitney and I hung around til 4 a.m., hoping they’d come back out once they saw we were the only ones left.  No luck!  Oh well.  Here’s the setlist:

Also, Hanson is playing at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas on October 15.  A few of my friends are going, and I was really wanting to go.  I get a text message from my friend Alex saying he’s going, and he’s driving, and I can hitch a ride.  He is staying with his Aunt, whom I met on our way home from Tulsa, and she said I can stay with her as well.  So, I will get to see Hanson twice for the Musical Ride Tour!

In less than 1 year, I will have seen Hanson 5 times.  And I’ve only seen them 9 times, so 5 of those 9 have all been within a year.

So, I need new friends, lol.  The 5 that I have (and I mean that I used to hang out with/talk to on a daily basis, not online people/coworkers) are kinda flaky.  2 weekends in a row, I tried to make plans with people, and they all fell through.  Last weekend, I tried to get people together to go to Bat Fest.  That failed.  This weekend, I tried to get people together to see a movie.  That failed.  I decided, to cure my boredom, I’d get drunk and play some Call of Duty.  That failed.  Polished off a small bottle of 42 proof Coconut Rum, and never got drunk.  Played Call of Duty with a drunken coworker, lol, but I was sober…

Day 1:

Alyx, Whitney and I arrived at Whitney’s in the late evening.  We stocked up on road trip supplies.  Then we zonked out early.

Day 2:

We arrived in Owasso, Oklahoma around 3:30 p.m., and Ashley was nowhere to be found.  While waiting to hear from her, we decided to go to Amanda’s house.  We met up with Rachel and she took us to see the MOE house, the Oil Driller Man, Ida Red, and 3CG Records (Hanson’s studio).  While snapping pictures outside of 3CG, Taylor came walking up.  He shook our hands and said “Wow you guys are here early!”  Alyx, Whitney and I were wearing matching Hanson shirts.  We decided to walk down a ways to Cain’s Ballroom.  Not even halfway there, we ran into Isaac and Zac.  Zac smiled and Ike said “Nice shirts”.  Then, we finally got ahold of Ashley. We were originally going to stay with her because we thought she lived in Owasso.  Well, she really WORKS in Owasso and lives 30 minutes from there.  Since she was an hour from Tulsa, we decided to get a hotel in Owasso instead.  We crashed out around 10:30 p.m.

Day 3:

Whitney & I woke up around 8:30 a.m., but Alyx was already awake.  We ate free breakfast at the hotel, then met up with Rachel.  We followed her, but she lost us.  We were trying to find Center of the Universe, but never found it.  We got some lunch and went to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.  Then Ashley met us at the hotel and she followed us to Amanda’s house for a barbecue.  When we got to Amanda’s, there was a guy high on PCP in the street directing traffic.  At first, we thought he was with the party.  Then we saw cop cars chasing him down.  The cops tackled him, pepper sprayed him, and tased him.  Whitney and Alyx wanted to get back to the hotel before dark, so Ashley gave me a ride back to the hotel later.  Before we left the BBQ, we did a flash mob in the front yard.  Then we headed down to 3CG and did a flash mob out front.  Zac and Mackenzie were in there, so everyone scattered.  Ashley dropped me off at the hotel around 10 p.m. and we went to bed.

Day 4:

We got to Cain’s a little after 10 a.m., and the line was already pretty long.  As usual, we were on Hanson time.  Check-in was supposed to be at 11, but it didn’t happen until closer to 12.  Doors were supposed to open at 1, but it was more like 1:30 when they finally opened.  Whitney and I got early entry, so we were the first ones in and literally were 3 feet from Isaac.  Nobody sat on the other side of Whitney, so Alyx came and got to sit with us.  During Give a Little, Taylor and I made eye contact. When they left to prepare for the Q&A, Taylor walked by me and smiled and nodded at me.  They came back out, and Whitney had her hand up pretty much the whole time during the Q&A and Alyx was pointing at her.  Taylor says “Our friend over here has been pointing at our other friend, so we’ll take her question.”  Whitney asked what superpowers they wish they had.  Isaac wanted the ability to play any song (‘cause he’s always forgetting his own songs) and Zac wanted to rid the world of auto-tune.  Of course, Taylor didn’t answer the question.  After the Q&A, we lined up for our group photo.  I was leading Whitney to the picture area and Isaac grabs her arm gently and says “Here, come stand by me.”  After we take the photo, Whitney asks Ike if she can have a guitar pick.  He said he didn’t have any on him.  Then he taps her on the shoulder a few minutes later and said he had one after all, so he gave it to her, along with a hug.  Then we shook all 3 of the guys’ hands and headed to the merch table.  I bought the Give a Little shirt, the MOE shirt, and the calendar.  Then we did the walk.  We got home around 8:30 and were asleep by 9:30 p.m.

Day 5:

We woke up at 7 a.m. and were back on the road by 8:30.  We stopped in Dallas and had lunch with Whitney’s uncles and Alyx’s aunt.  I got home around 6:30 p.m.  I’m exhausted, and miss Tulsa, but I’m also happy to be back home with the hubby and kitty cat.

My mother-in-law got invited by a co-worker to go to the lake today.  She invited the hubby and I.  I told them I was self-conscious about my legs.  I have a sleep disorder where I scratch them in my sleep until they’re bloodied and raw.  So my legs are really bad.  I went anyway, but couldn’t go swimming ‘cause it’s “that time of the month”, and I don’t swim when that time comes around.  So I brought my iPod to help keep me entertained.  I sat at a table the whole time to hide my legs because it’s embarrassing and I didn’t want anyone to see them.  So we were at the lake for about 3 1/2 hours, and I’m painfully sunburned, even though I wore 70 SPF sunscreen.  Not only that, but now my mother-in-law and my husband are pissed at me for being “anti-social” and they were embarrassed by my behavior.  Umm, what behavior?  I couldn’t participate in any of the activities, so what else was I supposed to do?  Needless to say, I am now the enemy, apparently, and I’m depressed and really feel like giving up on everything.  It seems no matter what I do, even if I keep quiet, I end up pissing people off.  I piss them off when I do talk, and I piss them off when I don’t.  It’s a lose/lose situation.  I’m sick of it…
